Our Country is sinking into debt big time and yet America as a country just will not deal with it.
This Country is out of money folks and unless the problem is addressed soon we will have a hard road to face.
In conjunction with that article is a documentary that I viewed recently "In Debt We Trust".
(The DVD documentary I was able to obtain at the public library.). One startling fact that film pointed was the fact if this nation became frugal with it's spending then we as a country would collapse economically! In other words our American economy is built on frivolous spending on none essential items such as entertainment. On the surface it seems hard to believe until realize how much is spent on things like movies, pornography, alcohol, sports events, ect. I know this makes me look prudish. However I wish Americans would try an experiment: For one whole month, buy only what you need-food, clothes, transportation, shelter. Most people have TV and radio for entertainment at home, and you can go to the local library to read a book or watch a movie. Would you be willing to try such an experiment? Or have we as a Country become so accustomed to be entertained in all aspects of our lives that such a experiment is doomed to failure because we would go throw severe physical contraction and withdraw symptoms if it was attempted even for one week? Maybe I should put this one modifier in before closing: Go ahead and amuse yourselves, just don't pay for your amusement for a month. If you have time, check out a book by Neal Postman called "Amusing Ourselves to Death". Thanks for taking the time to read this and have a good day!
