An interesting and fascinating article for those who like the movie "Avatar" or who like to conserve, or for those who consider themselves 'green'. For the record-I recycle both at home and at work. What made the article interesting for me had to do with the common charge that all Christians are hypocrites; which is true by the way! The church is a place of repented sinners; not perfect people. However if we must hyprocrisy, let us show it everywhere, not just in churches! Hollywood has a steady history of portraying Christians in a negative fashion, so turn about is fair play. This article is another case of reality biting where you least expect it. My thanks to the "Berean Call" (Dave Hunt & T. A. McMahon) for bringing this article to light. Here is the link again:
http://frontpagemag.com/2010/04/29/hollywood%E2%80%99s-green-hypocrisy/
Perhaps I am a bit of a hypocrite. I love a good movie, but I have a very low tolerance for many of the ideas Hollywood loves to push. One conclusion one could draw after reading the article could be 'If Hollywood really wanted to be truly green then they would have to shut down productions big time.'
To publish some thoughts, subjective or otherwise; to paint a picture of what real Christianity is like and in the process perhaps expose fakes, flawed ideas and counterfeits.

update on the update
I was back on the surgeons table again and this time I had hardware removed from my skull. I guess that means that I am more open minded, doesn't it? Now I must wear a funky helmet to protect my head. Well I will talk more about the looks I get later.

Money has wings
"If only I was rich then my problems would melt away!" Really? Get rich and all your relationships change. Get rich and you will need an unlisted number and perhaps even a name change just to keep the 'pest' away! Get a rich and you will be taxed at a very high rate! Check this link out below and once you get there check out the other related links:

Born again in the Democratic Party
Out of fairness to everyone I had asked myself this question: 'Are there true, legitimate born again Christians in the Democratic Party? Would you believe that the answer is yes? Here is a link below for you to to investigate:
www.huffingtonpost.com/zack-exley/born-again-and-democratic_b_87519.html
The source is an interview between Zack Exley and George Barna. The name of the article is called, Born Again And Democratic? -- An Interview With George Barna. In the interview Barna gives a strict definition of what a Born Again Christian is; which why you should read this surprising article.
Again let me state that my reason for posting such articles is my strong aversion to falsehood and how false ideas have a bigger grip on people's thinking than what they 9realize. It is not to make anyone look stupid or humiliate them; it is to expose concepts and ideas in their true light. I am not arguing for anyone's liberal agenda ever. I hope this inspires serious examination with ourselves and our 'leaders'.
I guess one lesson that we all can learn from this- Don't assume that just because that person who voted Democratic means that person is a fake or an apostate.

"I get on me knees and pray 'We don't get fooled again!'" no!no!
What is the first thing you think of when you think of the Republican Party? Conservative, fiscally tight, family values, gay? Yes you heard me right, gay.

What started this recent string of blogs were questions I had about politics; unanswered questions. The big question that really got me searching was 'Does the Republican Party really represent Biblical values, or is it just a sham to sucker us Christians into voting for them?' I am not bugged by the fact that there are gays in the Republican Party. However I am quite bugged that the Republicans have not been completely 'straight' with the public about this issue. I am even more bugged at Christians who are staunchly supporting the Republican Party without question. I guess this whole hypocrisy of the Republicans portraying themselves as more righteous than Democrats bugs me. Those 2 parties act so much alike it seems! Yes I know there are differences but the point of this blog was to point out the similarities of the 2 parties that most are not aware of.
I got no clear number as to how many gays are in the Republican party, but put Log Cabin Republicans in your search engine and see what you come up with.
By the way speaking of being suckered in: Originally I was going to talk about how James Dobson was suckered by the Republican party recently but this seemed more relevant. Oh, Dobson did nothing wrong, but I am bothered as to how the Republicans use Dobson to garner votes, and then James gets little return for his support.

everything you learned is incorrect??
Curisosity got the better part of me and I had to find out 'how many pro-life Democrats are there?' By one count there are 35 pro-life Democrats in the house. See this link if you are curious.
www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/0404122.htm
This also begged the question, 'How many pro-choice Republicans are there?' One Gallup Poll said that 30% Republicans are pro-choice. Let's see, that is about 1 in 3 Republicans being pro-choice. See this link below:
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_percentage_of_Republican
These sources that I have listed are by no means final. But if this true then it forces us to ask some real hard question come any election such as: Are the Party differences real or just aparent? What is the real agenda of each political party? If the Republican Party is the Conservative Party, then what are they conserving? Most importantly, why are Christians who are usually pro-life stand by the Republican Party so much when it has so many pro-choice canidates?
It is time to trash all assumptions about politics folks. Seriously study the 2 parties, and even seriously consider voting for third party canidates.

update
Get this: I was on the surgeons table with an IV in my arm and muscle relaxer in my system, and the word came that they would not operate because their case load was too heavy and the operation wouldn't happen until evening. So I get sent home and my surgery will be rescheduled.
